J Wesley Howze Jr.

J Wesley Howze Jr.

Cocoa, Florida

I was born in Florida, as was my father. Having spent my early years as an Army brat, and as a child of the Cold War, I followed my father's assignments in both Europe and the Far East.

I returned to Florida in 1961 as my family settled in Gainesville, our hometown. I attended public high school and then went on to college at The American University in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, I served in the U.S. Army between 1968 and 1971 with tours of duty in both Vietnam and Germany. I followed my military service with entry into law school at the University of Florida College of Law and marriage to my wife (44 years and still counting) in 1971.

Upon obtaining my Juris Doctor in 1974, my family and I moved to Brevard County, Florida, where we still reside.  My practice has evolved over the years, from my beginnings as an assistant public defender through 1976 and into the private practice of law in 1977. Through it all, I maintained my interest in business and in the litigation that arises from it. Business transactions, whether simple or complex, are the lifeblood of the American economy. Through all my years of legal practice I have never lost sight of that fundamental social truth.

I have learned the law, gained years of courtroom experience and have always kept my clients' interests first and foremost. The result has been more than four decades of professional success and personal satisfaction.
